Now Hiring: Front Desk & Back Shop Worker
Position Overview:
This is a dual-role position involving both customer service and hands-on shop work. You'll be the first point of contact for walk-in and phone-in customers, assisting with orders and inquiries, while also working in the back shop cutting and bending steel to specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk Duties:
Greet and assist customers in person and over the phone
Take and process orders accurately
Provide product information and support
Maintain a clean and organized front desk area
Handle basic invoicing and paperwork (training provided)
Back Shop Duties:
Operate cutting and bending equipment safely and accurately (training provided)
Prepare steel orders per customer requirements
Assist with loading/unloading materials as needed
Maintain shop cleanliness and organization
Requirements:
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask between customer service and shop duties
Comfortable working with tools and machinery (training provided)
Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures
Physically capable of lifting materials and standing for extended periods
Working Conditions:
Steel-toe work boots required (not supplied)
Other PPE provided (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection will be provided)
Indoor and outdoor work depending on tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in metalworking, manufacturing, or customer service
Forklift certification is an asset but not required
